GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP

In any game or a contest everyone wants to win. But all sorts of unexpected things influence the results of a game. One side gets the break today; tomorrow may be the other way. Whatever the result is, we have to show sportsmanship. If you win be gracious and do not be conceited. If you lose congratulate your opponent, shake hands to show respect. Sometimes we lose, sometimes we win. This is just normal. If we are guided by this spirit, then we have set the high standard of sportsmanship on the athletic field. It is true that we learn to play fair, not giving up while chances remain, not discouraged by set-backs, and not overbearing in success. These are the traits most admired. Finally, lessons of good sportsmanship can be learned at play with friends or peers, at home with the family and in school with fellow students. These stand us in good stead of our lives.
